Regional Human Resources Manager - LAX

G2 is looking for a candidate to fill the Regional HR Manager position based from Los Angeles (LAX), California. The ideal candidate will have had 3+ years of HR Management/Senior Generalist experience in the services industry (preferably contract services), Labor Relations experience, and be well versed in California employment law. This position would be ideal for a strong HR professional looking to advance into a Regional HR role. The role will be responsible for managing the HR function for assigned multi-site locations for G2 Secure Staff, L.L.C., to include LAX and a select group of small client airport locations. Primary focus on Compliance, Customer Service, Labor Relations, Client/Employee Relations, Staffing/Retention, and Training.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Provide management oversight of HR policies and procedures within assigned area; support Region/Area Manager in achieving operational goals through effective HR practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective management of the company’s Employment Center (if applicable).
  • Manage interpretation and implementation of the collective bargaining agreements.
  • Represent the company’s position in grievance and other union proceedings.
  • Provide direction for recruiting efforts within Region; utilize a broad range of recruitment sources to meet staffing and EEO/Affirmative Action requirements; may supervise recruiter and small HR staff.
  • Advise location managers/supervisors in employee retention efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA and other applicable statutes and regulations related to HR.
  • Audit HR office and if applicable, Employment Center, HR practices and files; review applicant logs to ensure that appropriate selection criteria are established for each open position.
  • Keep management and staff advised of new regulations and company policies related to HR; monitor and report progress toward Affirmative Action goals and related issues.
  • Serve as a liaison on HR initiatives and issues between the Region Office, Branches, and corporate HR, legal counsel, including Labor Relations, EEO/Affirmative Action, Employee Relations, Compensation and Benefits, and Recruiting.
  • Participate in unemployment, wage/hour and EEOC hearings in the Region as coordinated with corporate HR management; prepare and oversee preparation of data for OFCCP audits and Affirmative Action Plans.
  • Advise associates and management on the interpretation of policies, programs, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations; guide management in performance management and general HR issues.
  • Analyze and provide advice to supervisors and managers on methods and approaches to resolve associate work problems; as directed, conduct associate counseling and disciplinary procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of progressively responsible human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of HR experience in an organized labor environment preferred, preferably SEIU or Teamsters.
  • Relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.
  • Travel up to 30%, including overnight.
  • Proven track record of building positive relationships with managers across multiple locations.
  • Intermediate skill in the core competencies to include employee relations, compliance, recruiting, retention, training, employee & labor relations, culture and diversity.
  • Intermediate skill in customer service and client relations.
  • Advanced communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skill to include Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • PHR Certification preferred.
  • Multi-lingual skills a plus.
